I wish I can give it a negative 10 rating, because they deserve it. To hear my love one tell me their experience in a place like this, that is suppose to help is saddening. They left traumatized, depressed, and consuming a new drug now. I am utterly disgusted of the people that work there, mind you, she did mention1 person was nice to her so not all of them are bad. I urge anyone looking to this place to go somewhere else, because someone that needs help from an addiction doesn't need superficial help with other drugs. They need a loving, comprehensive, and understanding environment around them.

Unfortunately they discharged me for something I didn't do, my room mate was using, she had been there 9 days & didn't find it by then. They never ruined me even though I asked them to. All the staff members believe me but they said it came from the higher up who I never met. I thought this was my chance at a new life . I'm gonna be stronger for this , I will not use because of they're mistake 5 negative stars for they way they handled my situation

called my phone asking for someone that wasn’t me, and when i said “no, that’s not me,” the person who called said, “are you kidding me,” and started yelling at me.

BEYOND unprofessional! Staff is rude! It's like dealing with people in the street... They DO NOT care about people's recovery... But it's the way they treat people overall... Not just addicts in need. EVERYONE gets their attitude and rudeness... They have a couple of great employees.. But the rest are all trash! Can't wait for the state to shut these phonies down!!!

If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. Where do I even start? Let me first say that the Gavin foundation overall has a pretty reputable name and I am beside myself that the detox is continued to operate and carry their name. The staff here are all except for at best 2 of them nasty, bitter, completely uncaring people. They don’t care one bit about doing anything but getting a check and half of them are nodding off while they work so they could probably use some detox themselves. Theres very few therapy groups if any on any given day to teach us about recovery and the counselors- don’t even bother trying to see them. Ain’t gonna happen. Detox is only 4-7 days and it takes them 2-3 to even do the intake with you to see what your plans are for further treatment. The food is straight garbage. One evening we walked in to the “cafeteria” and couldn’t even make out what the food was. We asked the cook and he said “I’m sorry-their supposed to be chicken patties”. How in the world can you mess up chicken patties to where they become unrecognizable. The best meal of the day is definitely breakfast as you can choose a bowl of cereal. The most concerning of all is they highly over- medicate. This is great for people looking to get messed up for free or at the cost of their medical insurance but lemme tell you they also don’t check your vitals every 4 hrs like required during detox so if you care about your loved ones life- don’t send them there. It could cost them their life. After being there for a total of 24hrs I decided to leave and low and behold they wouldn’t let me go. I know my rights and told them too. I said too bad there’s 20 other patients watching you refuse to let me go because you say you cant get me go during lunch even though lunch has been over for 3.5 hrs. Right after I told them that my mother was an paralegal with the very city they operate and are licensed in and I would be filing charges as well as exposing the facility for what it really was I was released within minutes. And lastly, when I went downstairs to get my property, 6 packs of cigarettes were missing and they said I must’ve smoked them. How did I smoke 6 packs of cigarettes in 24hrs. If your serious about your sobriety- don’t go there. It’s a waste of time and energy and if you care about your loved ones- send them somewhere else. They need a real chance at sobriety.
