Who is Longbranch? Longbranch Healthcare is a system of substance abuse and co-occurring disorder treatment services whose mission is to provide an educational and experiential foundation for long-term recovery by empowering individuals and their families to find health, wellness, and peace of mind. Why Longbranch Healthcare? Longbranch treats the disease of addiction by addressing the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and family. We utilize a host of innovative, evidence-based modalities that assist individuals in creating meaningful and fulfilling lives in recovery. Longbranch Recovery Center offers a residential experience that treats addiction and co-occurring disorders with integrative and effective treatments to help build new lived in recovery. Treatment consists of individual counseling, group therapy, family workshops, yoga, exercise, meditation, and 12 step immersion. Located in Abita Springs, LA, Clients live in our beautiful retreat center, built in 2017, while receiving treatment. Our staff consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians, licensed professional counselors, registered addiction counselors, nurses, a registered yoga teacher, and recovery advocates who are deeply passionate about helping clients reach their goals. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) allows clients to live at home and work while being supported and treated for substance use and co-occuring disorders. The program meets 3-days a week for group therapy with one of the groups being a family session with a licensed marriage and family therapist. Individual counseling occurs weekly in conjunction with physician visits. Longbranch Wellness utilizes medication assisted treatment, intensive therapy, and robust aftercare planning in a comfortable environment to inspire clients to recover. Longbranch Recovery Center is proud to partner with Tulane’s School of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences to provide unparalleled patient care for our residential clients. Tulane was awarded fellowships in addiction medicine and has chosen Longbranch Recovery Center as a site to train their fellows under the guidance of their Director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship program.

Longbranch is a life altering, lifesaving, enriching place. The program taught me so much. I see everything differently. It also supported and educated my family. The doctors, nurses, counselors, recovery advocates, and chefs are all truly wonderful people. The wellness program not only got me in touch with my body, but also my spirit. The people who do intake, interventions, and everything else to ensure we can get help are heroes. Everyone I’ve met associated with Longbranch will go above and beyond to help someone succeed. The food is delicious. Living spaces and beds are comfortable. The buildings are beautiful. Outings and activities are entertaining and fun. It felt wonderful to connect with other people who had similar experiences and understood what I was going through in a nonjudgmental environment. If you’re looking for help with substance abuse for yourself or a loved one, this is the place.

Very clean facility. And yes, better than expected food. Strong medical staff. The problem arises in counseling access. “Recovery Advocates”, whose only qualification is 12 months sober, oversee nearly all process groups with only minimal access to real (degreed and licensed) counselors — a private session once per week per person. This is a very nice bed and breakfast experience for immersion in fundamental 12-step recovery. If you need more, don’t waste your money — about one thousand per day. But if you decide to try it, don’t take that decision lightly as they have deemed themselves as if like a Coroner over whether you can leave or stay. You may decide to leave physically, but even having entered voluntarily, they can decide to withhold your purse or wallet, credit cards, cash and cell phone. Be careful with this place, please do your homework.

Constant misinformation. They tell the patient and the family hugely different things, and at the end of the day all the care about is collecting the insurance money. Looks nice in photos, but go somewhere else if you want to help your family member.

I was a patient there. It was all good as I thought. I am a Veteran suffering from PTSD besides other things. Explain too me how someone younger than you. There Parents are your age. Know how too help a veteran that has gone through soo much. Get out start their IOP doing great then made one relapse. Then they turn their back on you. Thought IOP & recovery included a relapse. But it’s good I know how you treat the Veterans. God fan forgive but not Longbranch. I’m now gonna shut back down. All entrees & exists are on lockdown. Only 3 allowed in Wife,HJG,& I. Thanks Longbranch for being True.

This place is horrible my wife had a terrible time there. They almost caused us to divorce. They would not let me talk to her. She was there for 2 months. I would not recommend anybody to go to this facility.
