Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Intergroup is a local A.A. service office, established and supported by A.A. groups and members, to help carry the A.A. message within the Savannah Area. It is a partnership of A.A. groups just as an A.A. group is a partnership of individuals. The Intergroup maintains a telephone help-line available to the public; to anyone in the community who may have a problem with alcohol. Celebrating an AA birthday? Consider donating $1, $2 or even $5 a year for each year – or a penny or a nickel a day for each day of your sobriety. Contributions support members and groups in Chatham, Bryan & Effingham County, and help ensure that the A.A. message is carried to newcomers.
